Pear Tree Estate: Colorful, Modern Styled Shoot Champaign, Illinois

"Go big or go home!" is a popular saying in my family. When it came to my first styled shoot, that is exactly what I did!

Photographers, venues, and wedding vendors of all sorts use styled shoots to explore creative ideas, build working relationships with other vendors and to build their portfolios.  I've loved the style of Pear Tree Estate since they opened. I figured as a new business, it may be awhile before I had the chance to be a part of an event there.  Luckily earlier this year, Heather and Kristin at Sweet Darling Weddings tossed my name into contention for an amazing opportunity to design for one of their styled tastings.  Annie, Lauren, and their staff go above and beyond for their clients.  They frequently hold tasting events for couples and their families to help select their menu. To enhance the experience, they have organized styled shoots on the same day as the tastings. Bringing together some of the best wedding vendors in the area, no detail goes untouched.  Their clients walk into a fully decorated reception space complete with custom touches top to bottom.

When Annie presented me with the color scheme, linens and inspiration photos for the shoot, I was instantly inspired and excited.  I jump at every chance I get to design with color.  The deep pinks and corals paired with the sleek acrylic made for a high impact, modern look that dazzled the eye in every direction.

I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to work with on this shoot!  It was an amazing day from the moment I arrived to tear down twelve hours later.

This amazing, suspended acrylic table welcomed guests.  Hung from the high beams of the foyer, a beautiful gathering of candles, single stem bud vases, and seeded eucalyptus set off a welcoming glow. The amazing hand lettering of Emily at Dash/wood was featured on the acrylic welcome and seating chart.

With the rich, pink velvet runners down the Pear Tree Estate harvest tables, I wanted a bit of space between the four foot floral garland and the table.  I had the acrylic risers custom made to give a nod to the acrylic chairs while also adding height and airyness.

One of my all time favorite bouquets, this stunner included several varieties of garden roses, standard roses, coral amaryllis, light pink parrot tulips, calla lilies and mixed foliage and fillers.

Now that's a feasting table! We suspended acrylic shelves at varying heights above the line of harvest tables, covered them with rose petals and then added candle groupings. Not only did it add a gorgeous glow to the room, but while seated at the tables there was rose petal garden overhead.

How do you know you are working with some outstanding creatives? When the stationary designer, Dash/wood,  picks up the small linear details in the couture bridal gown and used it as inspiration for the invitation suite.

Mouth watering yet? L.A. Gourmet, the catering company behind Pear Tree Estate, knocks it out of the park every time. (Get your hands on their homemade donuts sometime!) The menu for the tasting event was hand lettered on acrylic by Dash/wood. There was on placed on every table.

Isn't she the cutest!  Such a sweetheart!
